Peach Belt Conference Launches New Branding Initiative

The Peach Belt Conference unveiled a new branding initiative last week at its annual meetings in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The initiative seeks to define what being a part of the Peach Belt Conference is all about.

Feedback was solicited from members of each of the Peach Belt Conference's constituent groups: the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Presidents, Vice Presidents/Chancellors for Student Affairs, Athletics Directors, Senior Woman Administrators and Faculty Athletic Representatives. The question was simple: What is the Peach Belt Conference all about?

Notes were taken as responses came in, and there were many amazing attributes that were shared. Initially those responses were slated to be culled down to a few key attributes, but it was very apparent that the Peach Belt Conference is many things to many people.

Thus "The PBC is..." tag line was born. A word cloud was developed utilizing the words used to describe the Peach Belt Conference when given the prompt, “The PBC is…”

A word cloud is a beautiful, informative image that communicates much in a single glance. There are two subtle points to notice when examining this particular word cloud. First, the four words in the larger font are the four core values of the PBC that came up time after time. They are: Character, Commitment, Community and Competition. Second, each of these core values is depicted in a different font color. Words depicted in the same color as one of these values are associated with, or a further description of, that particular word.

In sum, this word cloud represents, in an organized and visually stimulating way, the many attributes that “The PBC is…”
